I'm always trying to listen to Clinton Dragon Sports on the air and the radio station doesn't come in very well (where I live) in the Claxton area especially in the evening. I can work late and even listen to Clinton Sports on line through my laptop in Knoxville and get a clear signal. Thanks for improving your listening area by going on line!!!

Love the show...I heard about the call-in show on public radio and by total chance, I stumbled on your radio show on the net while I was looking for classis country. just thought i would say a few words about your station. in mobile no radio station has help your neighbor or let you callin and sell various items for no cost to the seller or buyer. on friday 1/20/06 i was having problems with listening to WYSH so i tried to receive some other stations from my computer . i was not able to get any stations with signing up and payinf 4.95 to 6.95 depending where the radio was I can log on to WYSH and listen all day and all night for free. so i guess the folks near clinton have the best station. only wish i was closer. sometimes there are items for sale or trade that are interesting. love trading time and the music. thanks

I was interested to hear that your temperature is 41F we expect our temperature tomorrow, 25 Jan, to be 41C that is about 110F with hot Northerly winds off the desert. So far this month we have lost about 300,000 acres to bush fires in the mountains and grass lands around us to the North, West and East. Unfortunately these fires have caused the death of thousands of sheep, cattle and native animals. Cheers TonyG

I'M AM SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT A DOCUMENTARY IS BEING MADE ON THE EVENTS SURROUNDING THE INTEGRATION OF CLINTON HIGH . I WAS A FRESHMAN THE YEAR OF THE HIGH SCHOOL BOMBING AND THE FOLLOWING EVENTS . THOSE WERE TERRIBLE YEARS FOR BOTH BLACK AND WHITE CHILDREN AND I HOPE THE COVERING OF THIS PERIOD WILL BE ACCURATE AND TRUTHFUL . THE BLACK STUDENTS WERE INDEED COURAGEOUS AND STEADFAST IN THEIR DETERMINATION TO GET AN EDUCATION .I HAD NEVER BEEN RAISED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN . MY FATHER WAS AN HERB DOCTOR AND HAD MANY OF THE BLACK PEOPLE AS CUSTOMERS AND FRIENDS , BOTH IN CLINTON AND KNOXVILLE . MY BEING WITNESS TO HOW HE WAS FRIENDS WITH BOTH RACES, YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW SHOCKED I WAS TO LEARN THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY HATED PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR COLOR . I CONTINUED BEING FRIENDS WITH BLACK STUDENTS, AS WERE OTHER WHITE STUDENTS , AND THAT LED TO A NUMBER OF FIST FIGHTS AS A RESULT AS THERE WAS THAT ELEMENT THAT HARASSED THE BLACK STUDENTS AND THOSE WHO STOOD UP FOR THEM .THE BLACK STUDENTS WHO SUFFERED THROUGH THOSE EVENTS , AND YOU COULDN'T REALLY KNOW UNLESS YOU HAD ACTUALLY BEEN THERE AND SEEN IT , DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR PLACE IN HISTORY RECORDED .THEY WERE INDEED HEROES WHO STOOD UP FOR WHAT WAS RIGHT DESPITE DESPICABLE ABUSE AND TORMENT .THERE ARE SOME OF THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE PASSED ON , INCLUDING NEVIE BARTON JR WHO CONTINUED TO BE A FRIEND THROUGHOUT THE YEARS , WHO WILL NOT GET TO SEE THIS DONE BUT THEIR MEMORY CERTAINLY WILL ALWAYS BE A PART OF THOSE EVENTS . I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THE FINISHED DOCUMENTARY AND THE RECOGNITION OF THOSE EXTRAORDINARY BRAVE PEOPLE THAT THIS IS BEING MADE ABOUT .

Ron, I just want to tell genealogist, or anyone interested in family trees. I have written a great book. "Death Records of Hatmaker Funeral Home" in Lake City, Tennessee. Covering 1993 through 2003. Supplies are limited. The book sells for $45.00 and would make a great Christmas gift. Books can be mailed too. If you have a loved one that passed away during 1993 to 2003 they will be in this book. Interested contact the author at cheryllanetroublemaker@hotmail.com, also a book will be out soon on Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tennessee formally Martins and Anderson County Funeral Home. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

for jim harris, univ of conn played univ of west va on tues 11/2 on epsn the quarterback of UWV was from daphne,al about 10 miles from mobile in his senior year he had about 40 touchdowns mostly passing had about 4,000 yrds. he chose va because they would let him play QB. UNIV AL only wanted him for wide receiver, also AUB tues he had 3 touchdowns passin and one running he also blocked for the receiver running a reverse for a touchdown. his name is pat white he is a red shirt freshman. the good for all this is he gets to play AUB when he is a JUNIOR and SENIOR the game should be exciting. LSU only wanted him for wide receiver. this year in watching TENN looks like they could use this guy. tenn gets to play ND this weekend. maybe with there play caller stepping down maybe this will spark them time will tell. from what I heard not to many BIG collegues:MICH,MICH ST,TENN,ND went after this fellow. lots of sports director were a sleep at the wheel. the game tues was tipical of the games he played in high school.well i better go to work. listen to your programs most of the day but i miss alot because of my work. thanks for listening

G'day from Oz. The big news down here is the 2nd Bali Bombing where more of our people are dead or injured once again through the act of terrorists. I notice on this page that a lot of GI's listen in. My message to you is that most "normal" Aussies support the work you're doing in Iraq - we can't give in to these cowards. Friends, I thought you might like to know that at 10:06am (EST) WYSH will begin Live Reports from the Astrodome. A young Lady that we know is working there and has agreed to give us daily updates as to what is actually happening. It is obvious that what News channel you watch determines what "NEWS" you get. Our reports will be simple truth as to what is happening... no political axe to grind. If you want the truth listen to WYSH AM 1380 , or listen live at www.WYSHradio.com . For your reading pleasure I have included Alana's (our reporter) emails to us on her first 2 days working at the Astrodome. Thank you for listening to WYSH, and www.WYSHradio.com

Day 1

Those of you who know me well enough know that I do not shy away from voicing my opinion...nor do I avoid making bold and sometimes controversial statements. Then this should not be shocking to you at all. Most of you know that I have taken a contract job with Shaw and the Red Cross. I will be working at the Astrodome and Reliant Center in Houston and some in San Antonio. I know many of you have been watching the "coverage" with Katie Couric, Hilary Clinton, Oprah and the news. You see senior citizens being pushed around in wheel chairs and desperate evacuees telling their stories to reporters. Today was my first day and I want to share with all of you what I experienced. Although I have taken a stand on how I feel about those who refused...yes, refused...to evacuate, I assure you that I gave it some serious thought last night and this morning, before I headed downtown. The truth is, I didn't know what I was going to see, feel, hear, etc. Call it whatever you will and respond however you'd like, but I will remind you that I am seeing this first hand. In a room where I had attended the Houston Interior Decorators Showcase merely a week before Hurricane Katrina, I saw what looked like a huge homeless shelter. Cots everywhere, only inches apart. A make-shift medical center, nursery, a section for enrolling in Houston high schools, a roped off section for the elderly and one for "lost children" containing somewhere around 50 cots with blankets and their stuffed animals. There are piles of six packs of cans with generic labels that say "drinking water" and, although conditions are so much better than at the Superdome, several out of order bathrooms. Volunteers from the Salvation Army spend hours sorting through donated clothes in an auditorium-sized room. There are posters filling the walls from companies like Firestone and Limited Brands wanting to know who is still alive out of their employees. There are rooms designated for Alcoholics Anonymous, Food Stamps, the Texas Department of Insurance, U.S. Mail, FEMA, housing authorities, United Way, Red Cross, and several others. It's like a small city. It is chaotic and loud and hot. It is unfortunate and tragic that this ever happened. People have lost their homes, their belongings, and their loved ones. Bright points/inspirational moments from my day: I saw an elderly, black woman sitting on her cot reading from her bible. I saw and heard two men playing the harmonica and laughing. There were several children playing in the Houston Children's Hands on Museum activity room.An exceptionally polite teenager thanked me for helping her and her mother find the room where they could register their names for family looking for them. Having said that, let me get down to business: I have never heard so much bit##ing, complaining and ungrateful attitudes in my entire life. Bit##ing about the charities, the government, FEMA, even church organizations that are in these buildings HELPING! Below are a few of my favorite statements from today (Yes, I wish I were exaggerating): "I ain't waitin' in that food stamp line! It too long!" "If those cameras look at me I'm gonna tell em what's up. I woulda looked pimp today." "When they gawn give us some hard cash?" (P.S. They might not be getting "hard cash" handed directly to them, but they are being given pre-paid debits cards with $2000 on them.) "Don't nobody know whats goin' on up in here. They sent me from Hall A to D." (In case you're wondering...that's a distance of about 200 feet) "Na, dawg. I ain't goin nowhere. Jesse Jackson 'fin to get us 20,000 new houses." **Side note: I was actually slapped on the a#s today, by a passer by in the masses. This was all in my first 9 hours of work, on this...my very first day. I'm sure I will have more to report. Any of you that would like to spout off your liberal political views from afar...come on down to Houston. The Astrodome's on Kirby Drive.

____________________________________________________________

DAY 2

I doubt that I'll have the energy to write everyday, but Day 2 at the Astrodome was far more exciting. Today, I met Vanessa Williams. She was as courteous as I expected her to be (as I expected any celebrity, who arrives at the Astrodome in the back of a black towncar and stays for an hour and a half would be). Still, she was polite and her teeth are very white. A couple of things I saw today tugged at my heartstrings a bit. I had a few more encounters with people who seemed appreciative of what this city, these volunteers, workers, organizations and the American public are doing for them. I spent some time watching children who were far happier than you would ever expect them to be, in this situation. But things don't go swimmingly at the Astrodome for long.... I was coming out of a bathroom stall and a woman from FEMA yelled for us to get somewhere safe because it was getting "crazy out there." For those of you who didn't get to see it on CNN and Fox yet, we were on "lockdown." So many fights broke out that they locked the gates and temporarily closed Reliant Center. I was pushed into the room next to the restrooms. I have to admit, I was a little terrified. Within minutes, I could hear people yelling, followed very promptly by police and ambulance sirens. (Some of you received my emergency text messages about this time) After over an hour of being told not to leave the room because it was "too crazy out there" they began to let people out of the fences if they were wearing badges. News-copters swarmed over us in the parking lots and the entrances. Outside I helped a Harris County Citizens Volunteer group pass out water and small jars of baby food to the masses that were had been told they were not allowed to re enter until the fighting stopped. That's when all the fun began. Every time a TV camera surfaced, evacuees landed right in front of them, usually with babies in their arms (even if some of them had to "borrow" them for added sympathy). They ranted and raved. They shouted at the paramedics because they were being "too rough" with a lady who had "fallen out" (for those of you who don't know, I believe that translates into...got too hot). They screamed, "We don't treat ole folks like that in New Orleans!" The Houston Fire Department was tying up tarps for shade for these people who were complaining about how "don't nobody care if we hot, if our kids hot" and then...get this...they would tear them down. A lady from some organization started yelling at a volunteer (who had driven all the way from Arizona) about how "these uice. they tired of water." We were trying to ice down bottled water and they were stealing cases of hot water before we could get it on ice! The Houston police put yellow caution tape up around where ambulances were parked and the volunteers were handing out supplies and they were tearing it down. I'll tell you that I'm sure you will not see any of that on the news tonight or in the papers tomorrow. That is all for now. Alana

I found your station today accidentally and boy, am I glad I did! You play songs I haven't heard in many, many years. We had a country station situated in Boston that I listened to from the time I was a little girl until I had my first real job in 1976. They went away, the way some radio stations do, in the middle of the day, with no warning. We had to wait another 20 years before we got another country station in the area, but they play mostly top 40 country. You seem to play a great variety of songs - not only the ones that I've loved all my life, but more recent music too. How many stations play Delta Dawn, Jim Stafford and Johnny Horton all in one day anymore!!?? I'll be listening to you from now on while I'm at work, and possibly at home if I can wrestle the computer away from my metalhead husband! Thank you very much, Barbara

Love the Radio Station! Not alot of people here in Knoxville know it even exists. I let my co-workers listen to it on the net everyday. Word of mouth should be sufficient. Have a great Day

So happy to find you on the net & be on "ask your neighbor' yesterday. I so miss ETN and I hope it doesn't take a Cat 5 here to be able to move back home. Maybe someone has a home for rent & a job opening for a single mom w/2 great kids. East TN people are the best!

on ask your neighbor i will replay to the damage at mobile,al most survived very good. some had trees on their house. but nothing like NO,gulfport.bikoxi. i live on the water. the wind was blowing real good from the south from this water to my house is about 140 feet. i saw this water coming, and coming until it got to my house and got about 5 ft of water in my garage . but really no damage we had boarded up the windows but still i thought my windows would blow in for me and my family this was not the storm to ride out i left during IVAN,DENNIS,but not KATRINA. we ere with power for about a week and very long gas lines some sat for 3 to 4 hrs. but if you did this you had no guarantee that you would get gas before the station ran out.i have not heard of any deaths. but really lots of water.listening to you ask your neighbor as i am writing. DAULPHIN ISLAND was another story lot of house damage and house are gone. some houses the slab that held the house was removed before the house lot of rubble this is a barrior island.one way on one way off. it took a row of six houses and destroyed them completely. the the next 3 were ok no damage and the the next six destroyed. thought i would give you my 2cents. talk laterhave a good day.

I may not be as far away as some of your internet listeners, but while listening to "A TEAR IN MY BEER" makes me wish that other stations played music like this insted of some of the stuf that is produced today claiming to be COUNTRY MUSIC. Keep it playing.
