Woman dies when tree falls on camper

A Union County woman was killed when a tree fell on her camper Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office investigated the inciden, and say that a tree naturally uprooted and fell across a creek, landing on the camper where 55-year-old Brenda Whitman lived on Jerry Hollow Road.

Investigators said she died as a direct result of the tree’s impact.
