GSMNP: Motorcycle wreck kills one, injures another

(GSMNP press release) Great Smoky Mountains National Park Rangers responded to a report of a single-motorcycle accident on the Foothills Parkway West at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019. A 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by Rodney Bowers, age 70, of Greenville, SC, lost control of the motorcycle resulting in a single-vehicle accident approximately 6 miles east of Chilhowee Lake along the Foothills Parkway. A female passenger, Janice Cadotte, age 56, of Greenville, SC, died as a result of her injuries.

Park Rangers, Blount County Sheriff Department Officers, and emergency medical services responded to the scene. Bowers was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
