Illness forces postponement of CHS @ Powell

Due to the closures of schools in both Anderson and Knox counties today (Thursday February 7th) and tomorrow (Friday February 8th) due to widespread illness among teachers and students, the Clinton/Powell basketball doubleheader that had been scheduled for tonight has been postponed until Monday February 11th. Since these are District games, they need to be made up before next week’s District tournament at Karns, which had been scheduled to begin on Monday. With the delays, the District tournament will now begin on Tuesday February 12th at Karns.

Additionally, Clinton Boys’ Coach Chris Lockard says that Friday’s scheduled home doubleheader with Carter has also been canceled. The Dragons and Lady Dragons had been set to recognize their seniors on Senior Night, and it is unclear how those student-athletes will be recognized for their career accomplishments, on and off the court.
