Nolan Parrott, age 88, passed away on May 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. He is now rejoicing in Heaven. He was in the army during the Korean war. He was a faithful member and deacon at Edgemoore Baptist Church for 56 years. He worked for Union Carbide Y-12 for 41 years as a sheet metal worker, he retired in 1995. After retirement he loved to piddle around the barn on small projects, and loved working in the yard with his flowers. He also enjoyed traveling with his best friend and partner in crime, wife Mary Lou. They visited all 50 states and 7 foreign countries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Salley Parrott, brother J.T. Parrott, sister Elizabeth Nance and Son-in-Law Jimmy Silcox. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Parrott, daughters Kathie and husband Mike Hensley, and Debbie Silcox, son Dr. Tim Parrott and wife Rachel. Grandkids Jimmy Allan Silcox, Travis and wife Amanda Silcox, Heather Scudder, Amber and husband Bo Pebley, Amanda and husband Brandon Godsey, Eric and wife Niki Hensley, Matthew Parrott and Gary and wife Tamara Monday, along with 16 great grand kids. We would also like to thank Covenant Hospice, especially Angie T.
The family will receive friends at Edgemoor Baptist Church on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. Funeral service at 6 p.m. with Rev. Rick Miller and Rev. Charles Fritts officiating, interment to follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
