High school hoops: Clinton to face Lady Rebels Friday in Maryville

High school basketball’s District tournaments continued Monday and the Clinton Lady Dragons and Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats now know who they will play in the first round of Region tournament play Friday night.

In the District 4AAA consolation game, William Blount edged Hardin Valley 44-41, sending the Lady Hawks to District 3 champion Oak Ridge on Friday, and landing William Blount with a third matchup this season at Campbell County.

The championship game was decidedly more lopsided, Bearden battering Maryville 51-25. Bearden will host the fourth-place finisher in District 3, Powell, on Friday night while Maryville will play host to Clinton Friday night at 7:00, here on WYSH.
