ORPD investigating Friday robbery

According to our partners at Oak Ridge Today, Oak Ridge police are investigating a robbery reported at The Cash Company on the Turnpike on Friday afternoon. The robbery was reported at about 2:47 p.m. Friday at the business, located at 1966 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Upon their arrival, workers told police that a white male had walked in to the store, showed them a semi-automatic pistol, and demanded money. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was only able to be described as a white male wearing a dark-colored ski jacket and a light-colored ski mask. The suspect fled west on foot, according to investigators.

The Oak Ridge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is working on the case. Any information about the robbery should be reported to CID by calling (865) 425-4399, the statement said. Authorities say that the investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.

Police in Clinton, meanwhile, are still searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred early last Thursday at the Git N Go on South Seivers Boulevard. Contact the CPD if you have any information by calling 865-457-3112.
