Smokies rained out in Birmingham, return home to close season

As a result of rain, Wednesday night’s Tennessee Smokies’ game against the Birmingham Barons was canceled. The game will not be made up with only one series left to go for both teams.

Tennessee will travel back home to start a five-game series with the Jackson Generals tonight, weather permitting. Matt Swarmer is expected to toe the rubber for the Smokies, while Joel Payamps is expected to get the ball for the Generals.

Thursday Night’s game at Smokies Stadium will be the final Thirsty Thursday, presented by Coors Light with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
