Rue21 to hold grand opening in Oak Ridge

The rue21 store coming to Main Street Oak Ridge will hold a grand opening on June 15.

The new store will be around 6,500 square feet and employ about 10 associates. It will include girls’ and guys’ fashion including rue plus sizes, as well as footwear, accessories and décor.

The grand opening of the store will include free giveaways to the first 100 customers, according to a release from the company.

Main Street Oak Ridge is planning grand openings throughout the next couple of months for even more new stores coming to the development.

Civic and business leaders estimate the development that will replace the former Oak Ridge Mall will bring in nearly 1,000 new jobs, 200,000 shoppers per year and $2,000,000 annually in sales tax revenue.

According to project developer RealtyLink, here is a list of approximate grand opening dates:

Dicks-Middle to end of June
TJ Maxx- Beginning to middle of August
Maurices- Middle to end of June
Rack Room-End of June/First of July
Ulta-End of June/ first of July
Petsmart- Middle to end of July
Electronics Express-Middle to end of July
