Update on Friday Oak Ridge crash victims

A Corryton woman seriously injured in a fatal two-car accident in Oak Ridge last week remains hospitalized at UT Medical Center.

26-year-old Tabitha Douglas was listed in critical condition as of Tuesday at UTMC, where she was taken following Friday’s accident on South Illinois Avenue at Commerce Park Drive.

One passenger in Douglas’s car, 30-year-old Ashley Blalock of Knoxville, was killed in the crash. A second passenger, identified only as a 7-year-old Corryton girl by Oak Ridge Police, was also injured but details of her condition have not been made public.

The occupants of the SUV involved in Friday’s crash–78-year-old driver Celia Sparks and 52-year-old passenger Kenneth Sparks, both of Knoxville–have been released from the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation and as more information becomes available, we will pass it along to you.
