Techmer fire causes $50K in damages

Following up on Tuesday morning’s fire at Techmer PM in Clinton, officials now estimate the total amount of damage at around $50,000.

The fire was reported shortly after 4:30 am at the plant and when firefighters arrived, discovered flames coming from the duct system. The fire was extinguished and crews began searching for any other hot spots, finding none.

Crews cleaned up the area and ventilated the building before clearing the scene a little after 6 am.

No injuries were reported.
