Norris Memorial Day celebration

The public is invited to Norris’s Memorial Day event in downtown Norris on Monday, May 29.

The event, which is sponsored by the Norris Lion Club, will begin at 9 am at the Lions Community Pavilion where the veterans will register and everyone attending will enjoy refreshments.

At 10:00 am, everyone will walk to the flag pole in front of the Norris Post Office and be greeted by Master of ceremonies Dean Harshbarger.

The Invocation will be by Reverend Michael Trentham, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Clinton.

Dennis Curtin will present honors to the colors, with assistance from buglers Tyler Adams and Adam Somerville from the Anderson County High School Band.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel William Grieve will present the annual Memorial Wreath.

Following the remarks and formal ceremony participants will be given the opportunity to remember family members, friends and neighbors who served in the Armed Services and are now deceased.

Everyone is invited to attend.
