REMINDER: Dragon legend to be recognized during CHS hoops contest

We want to remind Clinton High School basketball fans that Dragon hoops legend Sam Hall will be recognized during tonight’s Karns at Clinton basketball game at the Don W. Lockard Gymnasium.

Sam Hall played in the mid to late 1960s and his career is still talked about today.

Sam has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his family here in Clinton is asking anyone who knew Sam, played or graduated with Sam, or just remembers Sam’s exploits on the court, to come to the game tonight and sit with one another. Photos and videos will be made and you will have the chance to record well wishes that will be sent to Sam, who lives in Willis, Texas.

While Sam will not be able to make it tonight, his family says that when he heard about what was happening this evening, he was deeply touched. Come on out tonight to the Don Lockard Gymnasium, cheer on the Orange & Black and let a Clinton legend know that the Dragon Nation still has his back!

  1. As a cousin of Sam’s, I want to express my sincere gratitude for what was done at the high school basketball game. Coming from North Carolina and Georgia, my mother, brother and I will be visiting Sam at the end of January. I so wish we could’ve attended the basketball base! Again, thank you for your thoughtful actions and prayers.
