Tuesday high school hoops round-up

Here is a look at Tuesday night’s local high school basketball action.

At Clinton, the Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats defeated the Clinton Lady Dragons for a 59th consecutive time dating back to 1990, 61-19. Oak Ridge (3-1, 1-0) was led by Mykia Dowdell with 18 points and Jada Guinn with 14. Only three Lady Dragons (0-4, 0-1) scored, led by Nikkie Jones with eight points, Kinley Martin with six and Danyel Joy with five.

In the nightcap at the Don Lockard Gymnasium, Oak Ridge (4-0, 1-0) pulled away in the third quarter after leading by eight at halftime to beat the Dragons 87-57. Taijon Jones led the Wildcats with 16 points while Anthony Gibson tallied 14. Clinton (0-3, 0-1) was led by Travon Hill with 14 points, J’Quan Thomas with 12 and S.J. Powers with 11. Clinton plays at Karns Friday on WYSH and WQLA.
