Hatmaker disbarred

The Tennessee Supreme Court has disbarred a Campbell County lawyer after authorities said he mishandled client funds from a trust account. Wesley Lynn Hatmaker of Jacksboro, took money from the trust account, allowed his wife to write checks on client funds and lied to a judge to cover it up, according to a news release from the state Board of Professional Responsibility, which polices lawyers. Hatmaker also “failed to communicate with and diligently represent a client,” according to the release.

Hatmaker must pay back the amount in full as a condition of his reinstatement.
