On the Air: WYSH Sports Crew to labor throughout weekend

The WYSH Sports Crew will be busy once again this weekend, with high school football on Friday and a NASCAR tripleheader throughout the holiday weekend.

It all starts Thursday from 4 to 6 pm when Sports Talk presented by the Rogers Group broadcasts live from the new Kroger Marketplace at 234 East Emory Road in Powell, where a hiring event will be going on from 2 to 7 pm. We will have our “Dragon of the Past” feature, hear from Clinton football coach Josh Kerr and talk football, tomorrow from 4 to 6! Stop in, say hi, let me give you a t-shirt and maybe get a new job!

Friday, Fox & Farley Friday Night Football follows the Clinton Dragons to Karns for a Region rumble with the Beavers. Both teams are winless entering Friday’s contest, but the Dragons will be looking for their fifth straight win in the series, which Clinton leads 25-6-2. Last year, Clinton downed Karns 41-27 at Dragon Stadium. Our pregame coverage begins at 7:00, with kickoff set for 7:30.

Saturday afternoon at 3:00, we will take you to Darlington Raceway for the NASCAR Xfinity Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 on WYSH and WQLA. Those same two stations will also kick off a Sunday doubleheader with live coverage of the Camping World Truck Series Chevrolet Silverado 250 from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario at 2 pm.

That Sunday doubledip concludes on WYSH and WQLA as well as on Merle FM at 5 pm when the Sprint Cup Series runs the Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

Catch all of the action right here on your Local Sports Leader, WYSH/WQLA and Knoxville’s new home for NASCAR racing Merle FM.
