Report: Secret City train may be at end of line

According to the News-Sentinel, the Secret City Scenic Excursion Train may have come to the end of the line.

The owner of the rail line used for the scenic trips through Oak Ridge and the surrounding area, Energy Solutions, says that due to liability concerns, they will no longer allow the passenger train to operate. Trains have departed from the Southern Appalachian Railroad Museum in Oak Ridge at no cost for seven years but say that after reassessing their business, they will limit the use of the tracks to only their trains. Energy Solutions uses the short line as a connector to haul radioactive waste to its storage and disposal facility in Utah.

City officials lamented the loss of the tourist attraction but say they understand the business decision.
