Local Sports Update May 24th

Several East Tennessee teams will open up what they hope are long runs through the state tournaments this week in Murfreesboro.

On the baseball diamond, Sevier County and Collierville will tangle this evening in AAA action and Farragut opens up against Arlington.

In Class AA, CAK opens up play today with Chester County and Greeneville faces Murfreesboro Central.

In Class A baseball, Grace Christian will play today against Goodpasture while Meigs County faces Loretto.

In state tournament softball action, in AAA Seymour opens against Dickson today and Gibbs plays Arlington Wednesday.

In AA, CAK will face the Livingston Academy today and Union County opens up with Waverly.

In Class A softball, Midway opens play tonight against Marion County while Meigs County squares off against Silverdale.

On the soccer pitch, Bearden plays a AAA quarterfinal game today against Collierville. In Class A/AA action, CAK faces off against Notre Dame and Greeneville plays White House.
