(MRN) Matt Crafton started in the middle of the pack but ended the day at the front of the field Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, posting his second straight victory of the 2016 season. After starting seventeenth in the thirty-two-truck field, Crafton had his ThorSport Racing Toyota in front for the first time at Lap-80 and led all but eight of the final fifty-five trips around the mile-and-a-half North Carolina oval. The margin of victory over runner-up Kyle Busch was nearly six seconds with Johnny Sauter, Tyler Reddick and rookie Matt Tifft completing the top five. Coupled with his victory ten days ago in Dover, Crafton – a two-time series champion – has climbed to the top of the standings and enjoys a twelve-point advantage over Timothy Peters heading into the next race next month in Fort Worth, Texas. Peters finished seventh in Saturday’s race, which was postponed one day by rain … Rookie William Byron started from the pole and led twenty-five laps before finishing tenth.
