GSMNP announces temporary closure of Metcalf Bottoms Bridge

Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials announced a temporary closure of the Metcalf Bottoms Bridge on Wednesday, April 27 beginning at 6:00 p.m. to complete needed repairs. The closure is expected to last up to 6 hours. The bridge will be closed to all traffic including pedestrians. Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area will remain open with visitor access via Little River Road only. Hikers will have access to Little Greenbrier Trail and Little Brier Gap Trail via Wear Cove Gap Road.
