Calhoun’s coming to OR waterfront

It appears that the mystery of which Copper Cellar-owned restaurant will be opening soon on the Oak Ridge waterfront. Calhoun’s has applied for a beer permit for the former home of the Flatwater Grill and more recently, Riverside Grille. That permit application will be considered by the city’s Beer Board Wednesday April 6th beginning at 5:15 pm Wednesday at the Oak Ridge Municipal Building.

Copper Cellar, which operates restaurants bearing the company’s name along with Chesapeake’s and Calhoun’s, purchased the building and the land it sits on in February from oak Ridge businessmen and developers Rick and Ryan Chinn, who had owned the property for about a decade.

While the exact opening date for the new Calhoun’s on Melton Lake Drive in Oak Ridge is unclear, the beer permit application indicates they plan to open their doors in the Secret City later this month.
