Motorcyclist dies in crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening in Oak Ridge. Our partners at Oak Ridge Today report that the accident involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Cadillac sedan occurred at around 6 pm Sunday on North Illinois Avenue at the west entrance to the Kroger shopping center. Few details of the crash have been made available, including the names of those involved and whether or not the occupants of the sedan were injured, but as soon as that information is made available, we will pass it along to you.

In addition to Oak Ridge Police and Fire personnel, officers from the Clinton Police Department also responded to assist with reconstructing the crash.

That stretch of North Illinois Avenue was closed for several hours as investigators did their work.
