CWTS: Nemecheck, 18, wins truck race in Atlanta

(MRN) John Hunter Nemechek was assisted by a couple Sprint Cup Series champions en route to winning Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The night before the race, as he prepared for his first start on the mile-and-a-half Georgia oval, Nemechek – just 18 years old – met with 2014 champ Kevin Harvick. And on race day, the young driver had help from Jimmie Johnson’s pit crew. Nemechek’s second career win came after he held Cameron Hayley at bay on the day’s final restart. The margin of victory was three-tenths of a second with Timothy Peters, Daniel Hemric and rookie Grant Enfinger completing the top five … Daytona winner Johnny Sauter labored to a twenty-eighth-place finish and slipped to tenth in the point standings.
