More info: OR man indicted in father’s death

A 19-year-old Oak Ridge man was indicted last week by an Anderson County grand jury on a charge of reckless homicide in the death of his father in November of 2014. William Brent James is accused in the death of 50-year-old Michael William James of Morgan County on November 27th, 2014. The father and son reportedly got into a physical altercation in the parking lot at the Eagles Lodge in Oak Ridge, where Michael James suffered his injuries. Investigators say that he died from those injuries several hours later at his brother’s home in Morgan County, where he was taken following the altercation. DA Dave Clark says that Michael James was “ill” before going to bed that evening and was found dead in his bed the next morning. William James was indicted on January 5th and arrested on the 8th. At last check, he remained in custody at the Anderson County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
