High school hoops round-up December 29th

Recapping Tuesday’s high school basketball action, the Oak Ridge boys dropped their first game after a school-record 15-0 start, falling in double overtime to David Crockett 87-85 at the Arby’s Classic in Bristol. The game featured a combined 30 three-pointers by the two teams and the Wildcats lost despite 25 points each from Tee Higgins and Taijon Jones. The Wildcats play North Mecklenburg out of North Carolina this afternoon in the consolation bracket.
Meanwhile, in Lenoir City, the Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats defeated the host Lady Panthers 50-37 to advance to the championship of the Lenoir City Christmas Classic, where they will tangle with Upperman at 6 pm tonight.
In other action from Monday, the Clinton Lady Dragons fell to 1-13 with a 52-42 loss to Cloudland at the Midway Christmas Classic. Clinton faces Sweetwater this afternoon at Midway.
It was another busy day at the Harriman Christmas Classic. On the girls’ side, Kingston handled Coalfield 64-50, Rockwood slipped by Sunbright 47-41 and Harriman doubled Monterey 50-25.
In boys’ action, Wartburg dealt Kingston a 66-61 defeat, Clarkrange beat Coalfield 67-53, Unaka edged Sunbright 80-76, Hampton knocked off Rockwood 57-40 and Harriman downed Monterey 60-54.
