High School Basketball round-up Monday Dec. 28th

Checking out Monday’s high school basketball action, the Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats beat Sequoyah 49-29 in the first round of the Lenoir City Christmas tournament as Mykia Dowdell scored 17 points. Oak Ridge faces the home-standing Lenoir City Lady Panthers this evening at 6 pm at Lenoir City.
Meanwhile, their male counterparts take their 15-0 record back up to Bristol for an Arby’s Classic quarterfinal match-up with David Crockett tonight at 6:30 pm.
The Harriman Christmas Classic got underway Monday and here is how things went on the girls’ side of the tourney. Kingston’s girls took care of Monterey 51-37, Coalfield rocked Rockwood 56-39 and Harriman doubled up Sunbright 64-32. In boys’ action at Harriman, Clarkrange knocked off Kingston 80-66, while Monterey clipped Rockwood 53-50, Hampton downed Coalfield 71-64, Wartburg handled Unaka 79-61 and Harriman topped Sunbright 70-59.
