2016 Secret City Festival June 10th & 11th, changes on way

The 2016 Secret City Festival in Oak Ridge will remain in June and will last for two days, June 10th and 11th, but in 2017 it could be moved to the fall and last for a week or more. Those are just some of the changes for the popular festival, which earlier this year had what officials called it’s most successful event in its 13-year history. One of the major changes that will be coming down the pike is the creation of an inaugural board of directors for the non-profit organization that will take over planning for the festival and will be in charge of everything from lining up talent to securing sponsors. The city has opted to step back in its participation, especially in providing money for the festival, and has charged the new non-profit organization to be completely self-sustaining within the next five years.
