Woman escapes injury when car goes into river

There were no reports of injuries, and the driver was able to escape when her small car went off Melton Lake Drive in Oak Ridge and down an embankment into the Clinch River on Monday night. The single-vehicle crash was reported shortly after 10;45 pm Monday. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was able to escape from the car, which was partially submerged. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
