Mr. K’s to close

Mr. K’s Used Books, Music and More in Oak Ridge will be closing within the next few weeks after 20 years in business. The store is located at 374 South Illinois Avenue and its owners say that the move by Kroger to the new shopping center at the corner of Illinois and the Turnpike combined with their inability to find another affordable location to lease in the city led to the decision. When Kroger moved, only a couple of restaurants and K-Mart remained in the shopping center where Mr. K’s is located. The store will remain open so that people can come in to redeem their trade credit and gift cards. The owners operate four other locations in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, and those stores will remain open.

  1. Oak Ridge will miss you since you are the only used book store in Anderson county. It is going to be a sad. sad day when you close.
