CONTACT Care Line needs volunteers

CONTACT Care Line is in need of volunteers to answer our Crisis Line and to make daily Reassurance Calls to our elderly, disabled and home bound clients.  We are a United Way Agency and all of our services are free of charge. We serve all nine counties in the 865 area. CONTACT Care Line is offering The Art of Active Listening Training on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm for 8 weeks, August 25-October 13 in the Austin Peay Building, 1404 Circle Drive, Knoxville.

This training teaches empathetic listening skills that you can use with co-workers, family and friends.  Practice sessions, in a supportive, nonjudgmental, atmosphere, help you begin to use your new skills as you discover the value of constructive, caring listening and responding. This training is also the first step to become a CONTACT Crisis Line Specialist. Cost for the general public is $50. Cost for students is $25. Register online at http://www.contactcarelinetn.org/programs/training-registration/
